Fish Powers Bees' Comeback

(Burlington-IA)- Mike Fish homered twice on Monday, helping the Bees come back and defeat the Quad Cities River Bandits 7-5 with a walk-off two run home run in extra innings at Community Field.

Quad Cities sent nine men to the plate in the top of the first inning, scoring four runs off Bees' starter Ryan Etsell.

After Quad Cities added another run, Mike Fish put the Bees on the board in the fourth with his third home run of the season, a solo shot cutting the deficit to 5-1.

The Bees continued to chip away, scoring two runs in the fifth without the benefit of a hit. Kody Eaves drove in Stephen McGee with a ground out. Later Erick Salcedo came home to score on a wild pitch trimming the River Bandits lead to 5-3.

After an Eric Aguilera solo homerun in the eighth, Stephen McGee sent the game to extra innings with a sacrifice fly scoring Brandon Bayardi in the ninth inning.

In the bottom of the 10th Mike Fish delivered again, crushing a two run walk-off home run to left to complete the Bees comeback.

Alan Busenitz (1-3) picked up the win in relief for the Bees while Tyler Brunnemann (0-1) was charged with the loss for Quad Cities.

The Bees and the River Bandits wrap up their three game series on Tuesday night at Community Field at 6:30 PM. Clint Sharp makes the start for the Bees against Andrew Thurman for Quad Cities.
