Ontario Clippers News Release

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Agua Caliente Clippers (5-8) drop their third straight and remain winless in three games against the Santa Cruz Warriors (8-8) this season, losing 115-102 on Tuesday night.

Mfiondu Kabengele exploded for a huge first half, putting up 23 points and 8 rebounds on nine-of-14 shooting from the field and hitting three of his four three point attempts. He finished by leading all scorers with a career-high 36 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for the double-double.

Agua Caliente started off strong, leading by as much as 8 early in the second quarter, but with the help of sloppy Clippers play, the Warriors took control and never looked back. Despite shooting a similar percentage on the same amount of shots, Santa Cruz took advantage of 17 Clippers turnovers, leading to 27 points.

LA Clippers assignee Terrance Mann recorded a strong performance in his G League debut, scoring 23 points to go with nine rebounds and eight assists.

Alen Smailagic led the Warriors with 29 points on 12-of-19 shooting from the field and hitting five of his nine three point attempts.

Next up is the 2019 NBA G League Winter Showcase, where all 28 teams will head to Las Vegas to participate in a newly rebranded mid-season tournament for a $100k prize. The Clippers open as the 18 seed and will host the #19 Sioux Falls Skyforce on Thursday, December 19 at 7:30 p.m. PST. The game will be played on Court 1 in the Mandalay Bay Events Center and televised on ESPNU.
