
First Place PrairieThunder Defeat Memphis RiverKings 5-4 on Tuesday Morning

The first place Bloomington PrairieThunder rallied from a 3-1 first period deficit to defeat the Mississippi based Memphis RiverKings 5-4 during a special Tuesday morning elementary school game at the Desoto Civic Center in Southaven, Mississippi. The PrairieThunder improved to 23-13-2 on the year and remain on top of the Central Hockey League's Turner (Northern) Conference. The RiverKings fall to 20-20-1 and are in sixth place in the CHL's Berry (Southern) Conference.
The PrairieThunder won their third in a row and fourth in their last five contests. Bloomington's goals came from Alan Mazur (his 2nd), Chris Cloud (his 1st), Brodie Sheahan (6th), John Snowden (11th), and Ryan McLeod (6th / 1st in Bloomington). McLeod's lamp lighter was the game winner at 9:25 of the third period. Jon Booras added two assists and goaltender Marco Emond won his league leading 18th game stopping 19 of 23 RiverKings shots.Veteran Chris Richards scored two goals for the RiverKings.
Bloomington remains on the road this week against the Mississippi based Memphis RiverKings. The teams will play games on Friday and Saturday night, January 28th & 29th at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven, Mississippi. Bloomington's next home game is Tuesday, February 1st against the Quad City Mallards. That will be the re-scheduled game which was moved from March 18th for the Sugarland Concert.
