
Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week Announced

TEMPE, AZ (January 25, 2011) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Tulsa ¬â¢s Ian Keserich has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending January 23, 2011. The Parma, Ohio native wins the weekly honor for the second time this season (also won the award for the week of December 6-12).

Keserich won his only decision of the week in a 2-1 shootout victory in Texas versus the Brahmas making 34 saves. The previous night, Keserich replaced Trevor Cann (illness) after the first period and stopped all 23 shots he faced in the Oilers 6-1 victory over Laredo. In the shootout win against Texas, Keserich stopped all five shooters he faced in the extra session making him 20 for 22 in shooters stopped this season (first in the CHL for goaltenders that have faced more than five shooters.).
Since joining Tulsa in early November, the 6-2, 200-pound netminder is 14-10-0 with a .907 save percentage. When he replaced Cann, it was the first action he had seen since January 2. Oilers goaltenders have now won the weekly award three times as Cann earned the honor after the first week of the season.
