First Place PrairieThunder Defeat Colorado 5-3 on Sunday Evening

The Bloomington PrairieThunder are in sole possession of first place in the Central Hockey League's Turner (Northern) Conference following their 5-3 victory over the Colorado Eagles on Sunday evening at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum. With the victory, Bloomington improves to 22-13-2 and Colorado is now 21-15-2.

The PrairieThunder got goals from Jon Booras, Jason Dale, Travis Granbois, Brodie Sheahan, and Brett Holmberg. Sheahan's goal at 17:35 of the second period was the game winner. Dale and Sheahan had three point nights with a goal and two assists. Captain Jason Deleurme added three assists. Goaltender Marco Emond got his 17th win of the year stopping 33 of 36 Colorado shots.

Bloomington is on the road next week for three games against the Mississippi based Memphis RiverKings. The teams will play a special Tuesday morning school game (1/24) at 10am central and games on Friday and Saturday night, January 28th & 29th at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven, Mississippi. Bloomington's next home game is Tuesday, February 1st against the Quad City Mallards. That will be the re-scheduled game which was moved from March 18th for the Sugarland Concert.
