First Place Admirals Return Home Friday

March 30, 2006 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Milwaukee Admirals News Release

Milwaukee, WI- Fresh off a 6-0 win over the Rochester American and sitting in first place in the AHL's West Division, the Milwaukee Admirals return home to the Bradley Center this Friday night to take on the Iowa Stars at 7:00 pm.

The first 3,500 fans through the gates will receive an Admirals baseball cap, courtesy of ImageMark and Milwaukee's own Pat McCurdy will entertain fans with his hits before and after the game and also during intermissions. McCurdy's first set will start at 6:00 pm.

The Ads currently lead the Houston Aeros by three points in the race for the West Division crown. However the Aeros do have two games in hand on the Admirals. To show just how close the race is between the two teams, consider this: Both clubs have 45 wins and both have given up 219 goals. Houston has scored four more times than the Ads (254-250), while Milwaukee has the better winning percentage (.662-.660). In head-to-head match-ups both teams have won four games.

The usual suspects have been leading the Admirals offense as of late with line mates Simon Gamache and Darren Haydar each posting lengthy scoring streaks. Haydar, has scored in eight straight games, including a hat trick versus Rochester last night, while Gamache has tied an Admirals team high by posting at least a point in ten consecutive contests.

Haydar has already set a career high with 84 points on the season and also broke the Admirals team mark for power-play goals in a year with 20. The Milton, ONT native is now ninth on the franchise's all-time scoring list with 268 points.

There is no rest for the weary, however, as the Admirals hit the road for three straight games after Friday night's home contest. The team's final game at the Bradley Center this season is on Friday, April 14th at 7:00 pm versus the Chicago Wolves.

For tickets to either of the last two regular season games fans can call Ticketmaster at (414) 276-4545 or log on to www.ticketmaster.com. Groups of ten or more people can still get significant discounts off the face value of the tickets by calling the Admirals office at (414) 227-0550.
