Aeros' Celebrity Waiter event raises $74,000

HOUSTON, Texas - The Eighth Annual Houston Aeros Celebrity Waiter Dinner & Auction, held March 21 at Courtyard on St. James, raised $74,000 for the Memorial Hermann Foundation and Houston Aeros Charities. The Aeros partnered with Memorial Hermann to create a new 9th-floor hockey themed playroom.

"The Houston Aeros and Aeros Charities are thrilled to bring the sport of hockey and some fun to the children at Memorial Hermann," said Aeros Charities executive director Courtney Eidman. "Our team will have a great place to entertain the children during their visits to Memorial Hermann."

"Memorial Hermann Children's Hospital is excited and thankful to have formed a partnership with the Houston Aeros," said Memorial Hermann Foundation senior executive director Melissa Garlington. "The Aeros' contribution will enable the hospital to create a special, Aeros hockey themed playroom that our patients are sure to enjoy."

The players raising the most money via tips were: Bill Kinkel ($4,441.00), Curtis Murphy ($1,520.00), Shawn Belle ($1,250.00), Greg Mauldin ($1,250.00) and Kirby Law ($1,223.00).

The Houston Aeros and Aeros Charities are committed to the Houston community and are an active and dedicated part of the community, helping children strive for success. During the season the Aeros visit hospitals, schools, and other organizations with an emphasis on children.
