Utah Grizzlies News Release

The Utah Grizzlies training camp will take a competitive turn tonight as the hopefuls in camp will compete against each other in a practice game at the Acord Ice Center located at 5353 W. 3100 South in West Valley City. Face-off for tonight's game is scheduled for 7:30 PM with tickets costing $5.00.

Plenty of new faces will be in the line-up tonight as will nine players that suited up for the Grizzlies last year. One match-up to watch will be the goaltending competition between Mike Smith, Jason Bacashihua, Jeff Levy and Boyd Ballard. The four candidates are competing for potentially one spot with Smith and Bacashihua being Dallas Star's draft picks and Levy and Ballard being free agent invitees.

Final cuts from training camp will be Sunday following this weekend's games.

Team Notes: Mark Wotton will not dress in tonight's game - The five players assigned from Dallas on Wednesday (Gavin Morgan, Jim Montgomery, Dan Jancevski, David Gosselin and Barrett Heisten) will not join the Grizzlies until Monday.

Next Game: The Grizzlies will play the their second and final Green-White pre-season game tomorrow night at the Acord Ice Center. Face-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.

***There will be no radio coverage of tonight's game***
