ABOUT LAST GAME: The Fireflies fell on Tuesday to Charleston, 7-0. Tucker Tharp recorded another hit; he's reached base safely in all four starts since coming off the disabled list.
GOOD MORNING: Wednesday's game is the second morning start time of the year. Last Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., Columbia downed the Rome Braves, 3-2, to complete a three-game sweep.
SIENA SEES IT: Vinny Siena drew a walk in Tuesday's game against the RiverDogs, his 13th straight game reaching base safely. He's one of just three batters in the South Atlantic League to reach safely in all 13 games this season (Dillon Dobson-Augusta and Alex Murphy-Delmarva). But Siena also has the distinction of sitting in first place in the league in total walks (13).

EXTRA KICK: During the series against Charleston, the Fireflies have had some extra coaching help. New York Mets Minor League Hitting Instructor Lamar Johnson has been in town. The former big leaguer has been with the Mets since 2004, serving as the hitting coach for the Major League club in 2014. The Texas native spent nine years (1974-82) in MLB.
DEUCES WILD: Every Firefly on the roster has recorded at least one multi-hit game just 13 games into the season.
CHECKING ON THE FOLKS: The New York Mets pounded the Phillies on Tuesday, 11-1. Neil Walker - who played in the SAL in 2005 (Hickory) totaled two hits, two runs and two RBIs.
