GreenJackets Complete Rally for Thrilling 9th Inning Win

Augusta, GA - The Augusta GreenJackets (6-7) took game two against their in-state rivals, the Rome Braves (4-9), Tuesday evening at Lake Olmstead Stadium.

Seth Harrison got the scoring started in the first inning with an RBI double, which scored Lucius Fox. The score would say 1-0 until the 6th inning when Ronald Acuna came around to score on an Austin Riley sac fly for Rome. GreenJackets starter Michael Santos pitched well, lasting 6.1 innings, striking out four, and only allowing one run on four hits. He did not issue a walk.

The Braves took the 2-1 lead in the 7th as Patrick Diddler scored on a Lucas Herbert double. Augusta tied it up in the bottom-half, as Kelvin Beltre scored Dillon Dobson with an RBI single. In the bottom of the 9th, Gustavo Cabrera singled home Dylan Davis for the game-winning run.

Tomorrow morning, the GreenJackets return back to action for their series finale with the Rome Braves at a special start time of 10:35am. The gates will open to fans starting at 9:30am. It's the first Education Day of the season, the field trip CSRA-area students look forward to all year! It's also the first Silver Jackets day, the official fan club of fans 60 and older. Last but not least, it's also the first Baseball Bingo of the season.

The probable starting pitchers are Max Fried (0-0, 1.64 ERA) and Phil Bickford (0-2, 5.19 ERA).

The 28th consecutive season of professional baseball in Augusta is underway.
