Augusta GreenJackets News Release
Augusta, GA - The Augusta GreenJackets (7-7) swept the Rome Braves Tuesday afternoon at Lake Olmstead Stadium. The GreenJackets crushed three home runs, and Dylan Davis had a pair, as he continues his recent tear at the plate.
Once again, the offense got started in the first inning for the GreenJackets, when Lucius Fox came around to score off a Jalen Miller single. The Braves scored three in the top-half of the third, but the GreenJackets scored three of their own an inning later when Davis hit the first of two home runs on the day.
Jean Agnomas tripled home Gustavo Cabrera, and Dillon Dobson and Dylan Davis went back-to-back in the 7th to put the GreenJackets up 9-4, en-route to a 9-5 win. Starter Phil Bickford earned his first win of the season, going 5.0 innings with eight strikeouts. Michael Connolly pitched three out of the bullpen striking out six, and Caleb Smith nailed down the 9th inning.
The GreenJackets complete their home-stand, going 4-3, and are now 7-7 overall on the season. They will be on the road in Charleston starting Thursday night, with Logan Webb (0-0, 3.38 ERA) opposing Charleston starter Brody Koerner (1-0, 1.38 ERA).
