Firebirds to Host Whaley Night to Collect Hygiene Items for Children

The Flint Firebirds are hosting a special night for Whaley Children's Center (WCC) on March 9, 2019 as the Firebirds face off against the Windsor Spitfires at 7 p.m. at the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center. All attendees will receive a free admission with the donation of five personal hygiene items to the children at WCC, sponsored by Landaal Packaging, Genesee Packaging, Corrigan Moving Systems, Big Johns Steak & Onion, and Oasis Outsourcing. There will also be a 50/50 raffle with all proceeds benefitting WCC.

"We are so excited to be partnering with the Flint Firebirds. Their continued support of our children is truly amazing and their willingness to help warms my heart, said Mindy Prusa, President and CEO of WCC. "We have a constant need for personal hygiene items and this will help us stock up our collection so our children will have everything they need to be successful at our Center. I cannot say thank you enough."

This game will be the last game of the regular season. Tickets start at $12 and are available at www.firebirds.com or for free by bringing five personal hygiene items to the game. Limit four per person while supplies last. WCC has a great need for a variety of personal hygiene products including, Liquid body wash, Lotion (hypoallergenic), Hair brushes, Ethnic hair care products, Feminine hygiene product, Overnight pads, Undergarments, Toilet paper, Paper towel, Laundry soap, Laundry scent boosters, First aid kits, Band-Aids, Twin XL bedding, Nair, Disposable cleaning wipes, Chapstick, Children's Pepto, Children's Chewable Motrin, Children's Chewable Tylenol, Antiobiotic Cream and Heat Packs.

"The Whaley Children's Center provides a significant service to their children and our local community," said Flint Firebirds Director of Marketing Dominic Gutierrez. "We are thrilled to partner with the WCC for a donation drive to help their constant need of personal hygiene items. This city always comes together to help others and our fans are no different."
