Final 2013-14 South Division Matchup in Duluth Tonight

DULUTH, Ga. - Playing their final two South Division games of the season this weekend, the Gwinnett Gladiators (27-36-3-2) will host the Greenville Road Warriors (38-23-2-3) at the Arena at Gwinnett Center tonight before traveling to Greenville tomorrow. The two teams split last weekend's home-and-home series with Greenville holding on to a 4-3 win Friday, and Gwinnett storming from an early 3-0 deficit to win 6-4 on Saturday.

The Road Warriors currently sit in the sixth spot in the East, three points from the fourth seeded Orlando Solar Bears and the final home ice advantage slot, and seven points ahead of the ninth place Florida Everblades. Greenville has won seven of its last nine games, and 17 of the last 21.

Glads Notes:

The Guggenburglar Strikes Again: Since joining the team in late February, Mark Guggenberger has a 8-5 record, a .911 save percentage, and a 2.84 GAA. On the season, he has a record of 13-5, and as a professional, he is 68-34-9.

Georgia's On His Mind: In his ten games played with Gwinnett, Alpharetta native Will MacDonald has three goals and five assists. He is currently in his rookie season as a professional after attending Princeton University.

Streaking Glads: Coyotes prospect Brendan Walker has at least a goal in five of his last seven games, with six goals, two assists, and a +7 rating over that stretch ... In his last seven games, alternate captain Dirk Southern has four goals and five assists ... Defenseman Daniel Spivak has finished a game with a minus in only 13 of his 63 games played this season, and hasn't gone below a minus-one. He leads Gwinnett with a +17 on the season.

Milestones: Dirk Southern is two games away from his 245th ECHL contest, and one away from 375 as a professional ... Casey Pierro-Zabotel is two games away from his 100th as a Gladiators ... Maxime Legault is five points away from 100 as a pro ... Joey Haddad is six games away from 300 as a professional, and three assists from his 100th professional assist.

Snippets: With four games left in the season, the Gladiators are 13-16-3-0 in their last 32 games compared to 14-20-0-2 in the first 36. And after going 10-18-0-2 in 2013, the Gladiators have been hovering around .500, going 17-18-3-0 since January 2nd ... The Gladiators special teams snapped an 0-for-33 power play goal drought last Friday night, thanks to Chris Culligan's 6-on-4 goal late in the third period. Gwinnett scored another power play goal the next night, making themselves two for their last three on the man advantage.
