August 2, 2013 - New York-Penn League (NYPL)
Aberdeen IronBirds News Release
Aberdeen, MD - Minor League Baseball announced yesterday that Aberdeen IronBirds' mascot Ferrous, has been named the âBest Mascot' in the New York-Penn League in MiLB's Mascot Mania Competition.
Ferrous beat out all the other mascots in the New York-Penn League, and now moves on to the Championship Round against the other League Champions around Minor League Baseball. Voting has begun on milb.com/mascotmania and continues until August 8th.
"Ferrous is very appreciative of the fans' support," said Shawny Hill, the IronBirds' On-Field Emcee and close confidant of the mascot. "Without the support from a great baseball town such as Aberdeen, he would not have received such an honor."
Fans can still vote for Ferrous to be named the best mascot in all of Minor League Baseball. They can log on to www.milb.com/mascotmania and vote an unlimited number of times. Fans can also vote up to 25 times per day on Twitter by tweeting @IronBirds and including Ferrous and #mascotmania in the tweet.
