FC Dallas Head Coach Luchi Gonzalez

General thoughts on the match...

"It's a weird sensation when you feel like the team is going in the right direction in terms of football integrity and how we're trying to work and improve, controlling the game, attacking and pressing anf creating more. But again, the stats don't always tell the final story and we lose 2-0. Even before the red card, we were really showing things that were going to lead us to the first goal. So it's really disappointing that we couldn't put it all together. These key moments we lose a little bit of concentration in a transition moment and we give away that first goal. So that's something that we have to reflect on and own it. The football progress I feel proud about, but the results are very disappointing recently to not reward ourselves."

On how the team can keep improving...

"I think in and around the box when we're committing numbers forward, if we can get a little more of a dynamic attack in terms of more elusive, surprise, maybe the cross is a little quicker, these half seconds and micro moments that we have to keep improving. And how? Keep working and preparing. We don't have a lot of training sessions but now that we're getting more possession, ball control, we need to reward ourselves by getting more chances in and around the box--and that takes more work in training."

FC Dallas Forward Michael Barrios

On Houston's play style...

"They knew how to defend their area. They defended it the best way possible. We tried in many forms and we knew it would be difficult. We tried crosses and runs into the box but we knew we had to keep trying. We needed to concentrate better on those second ball opportunities in the second half. We are left with a sour taste, and we couldn't get the result we wanted but that is how this game is. Anything can happen and just respect the decision and focus on the next game."

On the difficulty of playing a derby...

"Derby's are like this, it was difficult for both teams. They managed to score a goal first, so they controlled the timing and flow of the game. We had more possession and attacked through all channels, and we couldn't get the ball in the net. We just got to put this behind us, and look ahead for the next game. We'll look at the errors and the positives from this match and we'll go from there."

FC Dallas Defender Reto Ziegler

Overall thoughts on the match...

"We shot ourselves in the foot in key moments. Yes, they have good attacking players but at the end we gave them these two goals. We can't be happy with the performances defensively. On the other hand, we played better football but it's the results that count. Losing and taking another goal 10 (men) against 11, it cannot happen."

On what the team is missing...

"So I don't have the exact stats. We got in positions where we can cross I think that is one of our main weapons. We have very good players on the side. At the end of the cross there weren't many players, or the last touch wasn't good enough. We have to continue to train and play like we did because we've showed this season that we can be dangerous. We are very disappointed in what happened tonight. Today was a big chance for us to get some points. We have a strong team, especially mentally, and I'm sure we are going to bounce back."
