GRAND CHUTE, Wis.- Despite an outstanding first inning that featured a pair of home runs and three runs, the Beloit Sky Carp fell 14-5 Wednesday night to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.

Kahlil Watson hit a two-run blast to open the scoring, and Jake Thompson followed with a solo shot to give Beloit a 3-0 lead.

The advantage was short-lived, however, as Wisconsin jumped all over Beloit starting pitcher Zach King. After scoring four times in the second inning, the Timber Rattlers put up four more against King (4-6) to chase him from the game.

The Rattlers would add a pair of runs in the fifth, seventh and eighth innings to turn the game into a laugher. Jacob Berry doubled home a pair of runs in the ninth to complete the scoring.

Berry had three hits, all going for doubles, to highlight Beloit's offensive attack. Watson and Joe Mack both added a pair of hits.

The Sky Carp and Timber Rattlers will be back at it Thursday night at 6:40 p.m. Beloit's next home game will be Friday, July 14 against Cedar Rapids.

The Beloit Sky Carp are the High-A Affiliate of the Miami Marlins and play their games at ABC Supply Stadium -- the heart of the Riverbend District.
