Fans Vote Will Determine 35th Anniversary Team

OMAHA - Beginning today, fans are invited to cast their ballots for the Omaha Royals 35th anniversary team. Balloting will take place online at www.Oroyals.com through Monday, July 28th. This will be the only location for voting and fans' votes will be the only factor in determining which players are elected to the honorary squad.

Fans may vote for one first baseman, second baseman, third baseman, shortstop and catcher, three outfielders, five starting pitchers, two relievers and one manager. As explained at the top of the ballot, fans may add a write-in candidate at any position by voting for one player less than the maximum number permitted, and adding that player's name and position on a following page.

Also at the top of the ballot, fans are instructed to "click here" to view career highlights for all of the 35th anniversary team candidates. One interesting aspect of the voting should be whether the fans vote for players who went on to big league stardom with Kansas City, or decide to vote for those who made their mark by having an outstanding career or season for Omaha.
