April 1, 2009 - ECHL (ECHL)
Bakersfield Condors News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, wrap up the regular season on the Mercy & Memorial Hospitals Home Ice at Rabobank Arena with back-to-back games against the Ontario Reign this Friday and Saturday. Doors open at 6 p.m., puck drops at 7 p.m. on Friday. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with a special start time of 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Friday vs. Ontario - Fans' Choice Night:

The Condors host the Reign for Fans' Choice Night, sponsored by ABC23 and American Business Machines. Fans get to voice their opinion on 18 different items ranging from the jerseys the Condors will be wearing and what the discounted concession items will be, to the intermission games played and even who will be in the starting line up! So, help decide what type of music is played throughout the night, what Coach Raymond should do if he disagrees with a call, and even nominate yourself as the Season Ticket Holder of the Night and make sure your section wins all the great prizes. Voting ends Thursday at midnight. Doors open at 6 p.m., puck drops at 7 p.m.

Friday is also the final ABC23, SC Architect and Kern County Firefighters Condors Classroom Champions Night. Students who meet academic and attendance goals will receive a complimentary ticket to the game.

Saturday vs. Ontario - SpongeBob SquarePants:

For one night only everyone's favorite sponge, Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants, will leave his pineapple under the sea to bring his nautical nonsense to Condorstown, brought to you by Bright House Networks and 101.5 KGFM. SpongeBob will pose for pictures with fans in the Condors Photo Booth and meet and greet fans on the concourse. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., puck drops at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday is also a Bright House Networks Family Night.

Bright House subscribers receive $7 admission per person by presenting their Bright House cable bill or specially marked envelope. Finally, Saturday is the final Big Buddies Night, when underprivileged children, who otherwise would not be able to enjoy Bakersfield's number one family attraction, receive admission to a Condors game for free thanks to the generosity of local businesses.

Intermission Fun:

We would love to tell you what fun games and activities will take place during Friday's game, but that is up to you-the fans!

During the first intermission on Saturday, one lucky fan will get to compete on the ice in the California Pizza Kitchen Pizza Punchout, by taking five shots to knock down pizza boxes and win CPK gift cards. Then Colonel Claw'd, Baby Cal and Slapshot will be shot across the ice to win fans prizes for the cheapsk8r.com mascot slingshot.

During the second intermission, one fan will try to win his significant other a pair of pearl earrings for Rogers Jewelers Pick Your Prize. Then, a grand prize winner for the THINK program will be chosen to win a brand-new computer thanks to Diamond Technologies. The THINK program is a Condors school program that affords tickets to students who reach academic goals set by their teachers and schools.

During both games this weekend, if the Condors complete a shutout, the fortunate fan that receives the autographed Pappy's Coffee Shop ad in the Nightly Notes will receive free pancakes for a year, at Pappy's! So don't forget to pick up your copy for just $1 at the game each night!

You can catch all Condors games, home and away, on ESPN Radio 1230 and online through B2 Networks with the "Voice of the Condors" Kevin Bartl, by clicking the "Watch and Listen Live" link on the Condors home page.
