Falcons Raise Over $17,000 on St. Baldrick's Day

Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons announced today that the team raised $17,400 during its second annual St. Baldrick's Day celebration on Friday, March 21.

Following the Falcons March 21 game against Bakersfield, players, staff members, and others from the community came down to the ice at Save Mart Center to have their heads shaved, helping to raise money for pediatric cancer research.

Falcons head coach Matt Thomas raised the most money for event, bringing in $3,080. He was followed closely by assistant coach Ryan Mougenel at $2,640. Defenseman Joe Van Culin was the leading fundraiser among Falcons players, raising $1,695.

The Falcons play their final home game of the 2007-08 regular season, and the final regular season game ever at Save Mart Center, on Tuesday hosting the Stockton Thunder at 7:00 p.m. It's Fan Appreciation Night presented by the U.S. Army. The first 2,000 fans in attendance receive a Falcons team trading card set, and during the first intermission, the finals of the Central Valley Pushup Challenge take place on the ice. It's also a Two-for-Tuesday, presented by Carl's Jr., KMPH Fox 26, and KRZR 103.7 FM. Fans can stop by any local Carl's Jr., and pick up a voucher allowing them to purchase one ticket at regular price and get a second ticket for free.

Tickets for all Falcons home games can be purchased at the Save Mart Center Box Office, or through TicketMaster at (559) 485-8497 or www.ticketmaster.com. All Falcons' games are broadcast on 790 ESPN Radio, The Deuce, starting 15 minutes prior to face-off with the Port of Subs Pre-Game Show.
