Falcons and Grizzlies to meet in Round One

Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons announced today that the team will meet the Utah Grizzlies in the first round of the 2008 Kelly Cup Playoffs.

Fresno clinched the third seed in the National Conference with its 4-3 shootout win over Stockton last night. The Falcons are 42-20-8 on the season, and need wins in their final two games to tie the single-season team record of 44 set during the 2000-01 season in the West Coast Hockey League.

The Falcons have home-ice advantage for the series, and will host games one and two at Save Mart Center on Sunday, April 13 and Monday, April 14. Game one will start at 5:00 p.m., while the puck will drop for game two at 7:00 p.m.

The series shifts to The E Center in West Valley City for game three on Wednesday, April 16 and game four on Friday, April 18. If necessary, game five also takes place in Utah on Saturday, April 19. All games in Utah are scheduled for 6:05 p.m. PT starts.

If necessary, games six and seven of the series are back in Fresno on Monday, April 21 and Wednesday, April 23, with game time at 7:00 p.m. both nights.

The Falcons went 6-3-1 against the Grizzlies during the regular season, and recorded wins in each of the last four meetings in the season series. Fresno has an all-time record of 13-8-1 against Utah.

Individual game tickets for games one and two of the Falcons' series against Utah will go on sale on Monday, April 8 at the Save Mart Center Box Office, and through TicketMaster, by calling (559) 485-TIXS, or by logging onto www.ticketmaster.com.

All Falcons playoff games will air live on 790 ESPN Radio, The Deuce, starting with the Port of Subs Pre-Game Show 15 minutes prior to game time.
