
American Idol's David Hernandez To Sing At RoadRunners' Home Finale

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL are pleased to announce that American Idol finalist and Gilbert native David Hernandez will perform the National Anthem at the regular season home finale at 7:11 p.m. Thursday when the RoadRunners welcome the Bakersfield Condors to US Airways Center.
Hernandez, who has already once sung the National Anthem at a RoadRunners game this season on Oct. 21, 2007, garnered national attention after advancing to this season's Top 12 of FOX Television's hit reality series.
Thursday's performance will be Hernandez's first major public appearance since leaving American Idol on March 12. .
Thursday is also "Fan Appreciation Night". Every fan upon entrance will receive a $10 game play coupon from GameWorks, and every fan leaving the game will receive a coupon from Wendy's.
The RoadRunners will also be giving away hundreds of prizes from a variety of retailers including Cold Stone Creamery, CORT Furniture, California Pizza Kitchen, McDonald's, Jack in the Box, Verizon Wireless, NYPD Pizza, Subway, Gordon Biersch, Molina Fine Jewelers, Magique Golf, and the Phoenix Suns.
The RoadRunners are currently one point behind the Stockton Thunder for the eighth and final playoff spot in the National Conference. Phoenix trails Bakersfield by four points for the seventh overall seed.
