IN JUST A FEW HOURS...
The Springfield Falcons make the 26-mile journey to the XL Center in Hartford to meet the Connecticut Whale at 7 p.m. Springfield's six-game winning streak came to an end on Friday night at the MassMutual Center in a 3-1 defeat to the Worcester Sharks. Despite the hiccup, Springfield maintained its 14-point lead in the Northeast Division. The Falcons enter Saturday's action tied with the Binghamton Senators for first place in the Eastern Conference.

The Falcons return home to host the Syracuse Crunch for the only time in 2012-2013 on Friday, Feb. 1 at the MassMutual Center, with the game presented by Pride Stations & Stores. The first 1,000 fans into the building 12 and under will receive a youth specialty Falcons jersey, courtesy of Columbia Gas of Massachusetts. Fans in attendance on Friday will also have the opportunity to win a brand new, high-definition television courtesy of Manny's TV & Appliances as part of "Flat-Screen Friday."
Single-game tickets to see the Falcons in 2012-2013 can be purchased at the MassMutual Center Box Office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. through game time on Saturday home dates, and starting four hours prior to Sunday home contests. ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO AN END
Springfield's loss on Friday was its first since it underwent a 4-3 overtime defeat to the Sharks in Worcester on Jan. 11. The Falcons were attempting to tie their second-longest winning streak in franchise history of seven games and was trying to equal the longest points streak in the club's 19 campaigns of nine contests. The regulation defeat was the Falcons' first since a 4-1 loss in Albany on Jan. 5. Springfield was also bidding to win a sixth-consecutive home game for the first time since Nov. 11 to Dec. 6, 2002, but the Falcons fell at the MassMutual Center for the first time in 2013.
EXCELLING AT THE XL CENTER
The Falcons have dominated in Hartford this season, outscoring the Whale in two contests, 15-2. Springfield notched its biggest victory of the season at Connecticut on Nov. 4, 10-2, and followed that up with a 5-0 blanking of the Whale on Dec. 2. The Falcons will try to extend their road winning streak to four games for the second time this season tonight.
HOWES DO YOU DO?
Scott Howes registered the Falcons' lone goal on Friday night. The Toronto native has goals in back-to-back contests after depositing the game winner in Albany on Wednesday.
ONE FOR THE AGES
Bryan Helmer assisted on Scott Howes' goal for his first point of 2012-2013. Helmer now has points in each of his 20 pro seasons and in all of his 19 AHL campaigns. The Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario native is the all-time leader among AHL defensemen with 563 points (129g-434a).
ANDREW ADDS ANOTHER
After skating in 21-consecutive contests without a point, Andrew Joudrey has assists in back-to-back games.
LIMITING THE CHANCES
The 18 shots on goal allowed by the Falcons on Friday night were the fewest given up by Springfield in a game this season.
JANUARY JUBILATION
The Falcons are 8-2-1-0 in the first month of the 2013 calendar year. Jonathan Audy-Marchessault leads all AHL skaters in January with 16 points (8g-8a), while Ryan Craig is tied for second with 13 points (4g-9a).
RARE POWER OUTAGE
After collecting power-play goals in 11-straight games, Springfield has gone scoreless on the man advantage in back-to-back outings. The Falcons' three opportunities on the power play on Friday all came in the first period.
RULING THE ROAD
Springfield 's away record is 14-4-2-0 (.750), second in the AHL only to the Syracuse Crunch (.773). The Falcons have outscored their opponents 78 to 51 away from The Nest this season.
PLAYING AT BOTH ENDS
The Falcons lead the league with a +39 goals differential.
