
Falcons Fall To Wolf Pack 6-1

The Springfield Falcons lost to the Hartford Wolf Pack for the second time in a week, this time falling 6-1 at the MassMutual Center on Friday night. The Falcons have now lost two straight games as they head into a match-up with the Providence Bruins on Saturday night.
The Falcons fell behind in the first period when Brodie Dupont scored at 8:10 of the opening period giving the Wolf Pack a 1-0 lead through 20 minutes of play. Springfield had a chance to answer back with a goal of their own in the opening period, but failed to convert on three power play attempts.
In the second period, Hartford expanded their advantage early and often starting with Greg Moore's 20th marker of the season at 5:01 of the middle frame. Just 46-seconds later, Artem Anisimov scored his ninth goal of the year giving Hartford a 3-0 lead and chasing Falcons goaltender Jeff Deslauriers from the game after allowing three goals on 10 shots. The Wolf Pack took a 4-0 advantage at 17:03 of the second period when Mike Ouellette tallied even strength, while Dane Byers added an unassisted shorthanded marker at 18:17 of the second period putting Hartford on top 5-0.
Just 33-seconds into the third period, Lauri Korpikoski scored on the power play giving Hartford a 6-0 lead, with Springfield's Theo Peckham ending Al Montoya's shutout bid with a power play tally at 13:53 of the final frame.
