
Crunch Sign Center Max Taylor, Assign Brett Motherwell and Andrei Plekhanov to Elmira

Syracuse, NY (February 15, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they have signed center Max Taylor to a professional try-out contract. In addition, they have assigned defensemen Brett Motherwell and Andrei Plekhanov to Elmira.
Taylor, 24, has appeared in 50 games for Texas (ECHL) this season, racking up 18 goals, 19 assists and 43 penalty minutes. A native of Ottawa, Ontario, he appeared in 145 games for St. Lawrence University (ECAC) from 2003-06, tallying 29 goals, 69 assists and 127 penalty minutes.
Motherwell, 21, has appeared in 27 games for the Crunch this season, tallying 1 goal, 7 assists and 18 penalty minutes. A native of St. Charles, Illinois, Motherwell was signed by the Crunch on January 16, 2008.
Plekhanov, 21, has appeared in 28 games for the Crunch this season, notching 3 goals, 11 assists and 6 penalty mintues. He has also appeared in 5 games with Elmira this season, picking up 1 assist and 2 penalty mintues. A native of Nizhnekamsk, Russia, Plekhanov was drafted by Columbus in the third round, 96th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
