Fresno Falcons News Release

Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons beat the Bakersfield Condors 4-2 at Save Mart Center to extend their current home winning streak to six games. Despite being out shot 40-32, goaltender Brett Jaeger made 38 saves to lead Fresno to victory. The Falcons have yet to lose to the Condors at Save Mart Center this season.

The Falcons dominated play throughout the first period, which resulted in two goals in the last six minutes of play. The first goal came when John Wroblewski found Jim Lorentz, who then deflected the puck past Bakersfield goaltender Jason Wolfe at 14:19. Terry Marchant then scored his second goal of the season for the Falcons and his 12th overall on a power play from Sam Ftorek at 19:36, ending the period with Fresno in front 2-0.

In the second period, Mike Kiesman pounced on a rebound off the post to put the Falcons up by three at 5:09. At 10:11, Ryan Gillis finally put the Condors on the scoreboard when he took a pass from David Kudelka and scored on Jaeger from the right circle on a power play.

The Falcons kept on the pressure in the third period and scored once again at 1:26 with a goal by Simard, but the Condors were not ready to give up quite yet. Bakersfield defenseman Guy Dupuis netted a slap shot from the slot on a power play at 11:39. This cut the Falcons' lead to two, but the Condors were unable to do anymore damage, and the Falcons' clinched the win by a final of 4-2.

This victory in front of a crowd of 5,959 ties the season record for consecutive wins at home at six, which was previously set from Dec. 17 - Jan. 28. Fresno is now 34-18-7 and still holds fourth place in the West Division with 75 points.
