Late Goal Lifts Bombers To Victory

Dayton, OH – The Dayton Bombers rallied to beat the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies, 4-3, in front of 3,516 at the Ervin J. Nutter Center Sunday afternoon. Jeff Szwez recorded two goals and one assist for the Bombers.

First period goals from Brian Fahey (11:32) and Jean-Francois Plourde (13:53) gave Atlantic City a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.

Bullies goaltender Trevor Koenig left the game with an injury at 6:40 of the second period after recording 6 saves. His replacement, Dave Marlin, allowed all 4 goals against on 25 shots from the Bombers. JEFF SZWEZ pulled Dayton within one at 13:01 of the second period, then tied the game 2-2 with his second goal of the night and 22nd of the season at 17:29.

Ian Walterson gave the Bullies a 3-2 lead at 3:21 of the third period. But goals from MATT HERNEISEN (3:48) and BRETT NOWAK with just 59.6 seconds remaining in regulation lifted the Bombers to the 4-3 win.

The Bombers return to action Tuesday night when they host the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies in a home-away-from game at Hobart Arena in Troy, Ohio. Audio coverage, provided at daytonbombers.com, begins at 7:30 PM.
