ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Round Rock Express (71-65) finished off the home portion of the 2013 schedule in style with a 9-2 victory over the Oklahoma City RedHawks (78-58) Sunday night at Dell Diamond.

Express starter Michael Kirkman followed his 5.0 hitless innings at Nashville on August 20 with 6.0 strong innings Sunday night, allowing just two runs while striking out six.

The Express backed Kirkman's outing with five unanswered runs, scoring the first on a wild pitch by RedHawks starter Jake Buchanan in the first inning.

Sporting a 1-0 lead, the E-Train added to the cushion with three more runs in the fourth as shortstop Brendan Harris, catcher Eli Whiteside and left fielder Jim Adduci strung together three consecutive two-out RBI singles to make the score 4-0.

In the fifth inning, third baseman Alex Buchholz ripped a two-out double and later scored all the way from second on Buchanan's second wild pitch of the game to put the E-Train in front 5-0.

A one-out walk in the sixth would lead to Kirkman's lone blemish of the evening as the southpaw followed by allowing a two-run home run to Oklahoma City second baseman Jose Martinez that cut the score to 5-2.

Round Rock put the two runs back on the board in the bottom of the sixth when Adduci belted a two-run blast of his own, knocking in Whiteside who doubled with two gone for his third hit of the night.

Leading 7-2, the Express called on right-hander Neftali Feliz out of the bullpen to begin the final third of the game. Feliz faced the minimum before stretch time, retiring the side in order, while mixing in a strikeout. The right-hander worked a scoreless eighth before handing the ball to Wilmer Font for the ninth inning.

The Express added two runs in the bottom of the eighth on a RBI double off the bat of designated hitter Mike Bianucci and a run scoring knock by Adduci, giving the left fielder four RBI for the night, which tied his season-high.

Font retired the side in the ninth to nail down the series finale win. Kirkman (2-2) picked up his first win as a starter with the Express, while Buchanan (5-4) suffered the loss after allowing seven runs on 11 hits.

With the home portion of the season over, the Express hits the road for the final eight games of the 2013 campaign. Round Rock will start in Albuquerque to face the Isotopes at 7:35 p.m. behind right-hander Jake Brigham (1-1, 6.14 ERA).
