
Express Battle Back Late, Secure 4-3 Win Over Aviators

ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Round Rock Express (40-28 | 84-58) came from behind to top the Las Vegas Aviators (40-28 | 74-68) by a final score of 4-3 on Saturday night at Dell Diamond. Round Rock is now tied with Las Vegas for first place in the second-half Pacific Coast League standings.
Express reliever RHP Edwar Colina (3-1, 4.61) earned the win after allowing just one hit in 1.1 innings. Aviators reliever RHP Spencer Patton (4-2, 4.87) went home with a blown-save loss after giving up two runs on three hits with one walk and one strikeout in 1.0 innings. Round Rock RHP Yerry Rodriguez earned a save after retiring all three batters he faced in the ninth inning, fanning two.
Along the Train Tracks:
The scoring was started by Round Rock in the second inning after singles from 1B Blaine Crim and 3B Dio Arias had two runners on with no outs. A double from SS Jax Biggers and sacrifice fly from RF Sandro Fabian plated Crim and Arias, respectively and the E-Train led 2-0.
Las Vegas took a 3-2 lead in the top of the third inning after the first five batters all reached on a combination of a walk, three singles and one double.
Round Rock struck again in the eighth inning with two runs to reclaim the lead at 4-3. Singles from 2B Justin Foscue and LF J.P. Martinez, along with a walk drawn by Arias, loaded the bases for Biggers, whose two-RBI single plated the go-ahead run.
Express RHP Yerry Rodriguez retired all three batters he faced in the ninth inning and the 4-3 score stood final.
E-Train Excerpts:
In the first outing of his Major League rehab appearance, Texas Rangers RHP Josh Sborz tossed one inning that saw two hits and three strikeouts.
Prior to Saturday, Round Rock was 4-39 when trailing after seven innings and 2-18 when trailing after seven at Dell Diamond. After mounting an eighth-inning comeback, the Express erased the late deficit and picked up their fifth win this season when trailing after seven innings.
The E-Train pitching staff recorded 11 strikeouts on Saturday and sit at 53 through five games in the series against the Aviators, averaging over 10 strikeouts per game.
Express SS Jax Biggers recorded a season-high three RBI on Saturday while securing his third multi-RBI game with Round Rock this season. Biggers finished the night 2-for-4 with one double, three RBI and two strikeouts.
Next up: Round Rock and Las Vegas are scheduled to play in the series finale at Dell Diamond on Sunday afternoon, with first pitch scheduled for 1:05 p.m. Express RHP Zak Kent (0-1, 3.32) will face off against an Aviators pitcher to be announced.
