
Explorers fall to St. Paul

Sioux City.....St. Paul scored six runs in the eighth inning to defeat the Explorers 8-6 Saturday at Lewis and Clark Park.
The Explorers had jumped out to a 4-0 lead after four innings as Greg Stevens and Alex Llanos had solo home runs. Even after the Saints scored two runs in the fifth inning, the X's came back with two in the bottom of the fifth inning as Justin Nelson hit a solo shot. The Explorers hit three home runs in the game for only the third time this season.
With the Explorers leading 7-2 going into the eighth inning, the X's defense came up short committing three errors while St. Paul had just three hits in the inning, including a two-run bases loaded double by Brent Krause that gave the Saints the lead 8-6.
With the series tied at a game apiece, the final game of the series will be Sunday starting at 6:05pm
