Grand Prairie 5, El Paso 1 (Completion of suspended game from July 31st)

@ Grand Prairie, TX. Time: 2:32 Attendance: 3,040

HR: GP- Daniel Berg (1), Aaron Garza (8); EP- Kennard Bibbs (1)

In the completion of a suspended game from Friday July 31st, Grand Prairie topped El Paso 5-1. The Airhogs used solid efforts from three pitchers to allow just three hits in the contest. RF Aaron Garza's two-run homer in the seventh inning snapped a 1-1 tie and the Airhogs added two more runs in the eighth to make a winner out of reliever Vinnie DeChristofaro. SS Daniel Berg made a big contribution to the Airhogs victory with a homer and RBI single as well.

Grand Prairie 5, El Paso 4 (Regularly scheduled game)

@ Grand Prairie, TX. Time: 3:01 Attendance: 3,233

HR: GP- Javier Brito (5), Mike Conroy (2)

In the regularly scheduled game, Grand Prairie scored five times in the bottom of the first inning and went on to beat El Paso 5-4. CF Mike Conroy and 1B Javier Brito homered in the inning to quickly make the score 3-0. El Paso scored four times in the fifth inning to get back in the game but four AirHogs relievers combined to hold the Diablos to just one hit over the final 4 1/3 innings. James Morrison collected his 12th save of the year. El Paso 2B Jorge Alvarez went 3-for-5 with two RBI in a losing effort.

Ft. Worth 7, Pensacola 6

@ Pensacola, FL. Time: 3:24 Attendance: 2,156

HR: FW- John Allen (11); PEN- Dallas Christison (1), Antoin Gray (11)

With the game tied 6-6 in the top of the eighth inning, Ft. Worth used a two-out triple from CF Brian Fryer and a RBI single from DH Pat O'Sullivan to claim a 7-6 victory over Pensacola. Relievers Gary Lee and Scott VanderWeg did not allow the Pelicans a hit in the eighth and ninth inning and VanderWeg picked up his third save of the year. John Allen hit his 11th homer of the year and was one of four Cats hitters with two or more hits in the ballgame. 2B Antoin Gray and SS Dallas Christison each hit solo homers for the Pelicans.

St. Paul 8, Sioux City 6

HR: SC- Alex Llanos (3), Justin Nelson (5), Greg Stevens (2)

St. Paul rallied from a 6-2 deficit in the eighth inning, scoring six times to earn an 8-6 victory at Sioux City. The Saints notched three hits in the inning, but four of the six runs were unearned due to three Sioux City errors. RF Brent Krause capped the rally with a double that drove in two runs and put St. Paul ahead for good. Saints 1B Jason Cooper had a good game finishing 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI. The Explorers homered three times in the contest.

Sioux Falls 5, Wichita 4

@ Sioux Falls, SD. Time: 2:34 Attendance: 3,291

W: Noel Baca (3-3) L: Adam Cowart (5-5) S: Aaron Cotter (4)

HR: SF- JD Reininger (3); WIC- Joe Muich (6), Michael Thompson (5)

Sioux Falls used a four-run fourth inning to take an early 5-0 lead on Wichita and hung on for a 5-4 victory. Leading 1-0, Canaries DH JD Reininger hit a two run shot to start the big inning before SS Tim Hutting and LF Cody Haerther drove in runs with a sacrifice fly and a single. Wichita clawed back to within a run and had the tying and lead runs on base in the eighth inning. But reliever Aaron Cotter came on for Sioux Falls and struckout Wingnuts C Joe Muich, who'd homered earlier in the contest, to end the threat. Cotter then retired the side in order in the ninth inning for his fourth save.

Shreveport-Bossier vs Lincoln (Postponed - Rain)

@ Shreveport, LA.

The scheduled game between Shreveport-Bossier and Lincoln was postponed due to rain. It will be played as part of a doubleheader on Sunday, August 2nd beginning at 5:05PM. Both games will be scheduled for seven innings.
