
Nicolas named league Batter of the Month

Grand Prairie, TX. The Grand Prairie AirHogs proudly announce that 3B Cesar Nicolas has been named the American Association Batter of the Month for July.
The 6'4, 230lb., Miami, FL native held a .410 batting average for the month, knocking in 38 RBI, with 43 hits and four homeruns. Nicolas also held a hefty .638 slugging percentage and .462 on-base-percentage.
Named to the 2009 South Division All-Star Squad, Cesar was also crowned the Home Run Derby Champion after beating out Pensacola's Chase Burch prior to the July 21st American Association All-Star Game.
Selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2004, Nicolas played in the D-backs farm system for four seasons prior to joining the AirHogs. In 2008 with the Double-A Mobile BayBears, he appeared in 96 games, and batted .260 with 77 hits and 23 doubles. Nicolas' collegiate career was played out at Vanderbilt University.
