Grand Prairie AirHogs News Release

Grand Prairie, TX. The Grand Prairie AirHogs took two games from the El Paso Diablos (5-1, 5-4) in this rain soaked, two day affair.

As yesterday's Game 2 of the series was suspended after the fifth inning due to torrential downpour, tied at 1-1, another day was needed to finish up. A two run shot by Aaron Garza in the seventh put the ‘Hogs up 3-1 before they finished off the Diablos in the eighth with Derek Nicholson and Chad Gabriel RBIs to win 5-1.

Tonight's second game, Game 3 of the series, was the tale of two innings. Fortunately, Grand Prairie's big first inning held off El Paso's mid-game surge.

Mike Conroy put one over in right-center to make it 1-0--- his second homerun of the year. Cesar Nicolas then reached on a single before Javier Brito hit his fifth homerun of the year to make it 3-0. A Chad Gabriel walk led into an RBI double off the right field wall for Derek Nicholson to bring the score to 4-0. Daniel Berg finished him off with a single over second base to make it 5-0.

The Grand Prairie bats went silent after that. A four run fifth was the only bump in the night when the Diablos' Jorge Alvarez singled with runners at second and third to cut the lead to three. Jeff Vincent knocked in two more and the lead was down to one.

A quartet of relievers kept putting up zeros before AirHogs closer James Morrison picked up the save.

The final game of the series will start tomorrow at 6:05 p.m. with gates opening at 5 p.m. for the 2nd annual Bike Night at QuikTrip Park featuring a pre-game motorcycle parade. It's also another Family Sunday with $1 hotdogs and $1 sodas all night long. For tickets, call 972.504.9383 or visit www.airhogsbaseball.com.
