
Everblades Edge Stingrays in Overtime

North Charleston, SC -The South Carolina Stingrays (3-4-1-0) fell in overtime to the Florida Everblades (7-4-0-0) 4-3 in front of 3,017 at the North Charleston Coliseum Sunday afternoon. Forwards Rob Ricci (1g, 1a), Trent Campbell (1g, 1a) and Pierre-Luc O'Brien (2a) each had two points in the loss.
Stingrays forward Tommy Goebel broke open the scoring 18 seconds into the second period floating a shot over the left shoulder of Everblades goaltender Bobby Goepfert. Forward Nikita Kashirsky and defenseman Nate Kiser received the assists. Seconds later, Ricci put the Stingrays up 2-0 at 1:16 from Campbell and O'Brien.
Campbell carried the scoring into the third period with a tally at 12:19 from Ricci and O'Brien. The Everblades responded at 14:23 when forward Matthew Pistilli snuck a shot under the glove of Stingrays goalie Shane Connelly. Defenseman Kyle Lawson and forward Alexandre Imbault netted the assists. Imbault pulled the Everblades within one at 18:11 from Pistilli and defenseman Elgin Reid.
With 1.4 seconds left in the game, Everblades forward Nick Tarnasky tied the contest from defenseman Phil Paquet and Pistilli. Center Mitch Fadden completed the comeback on the power play 1:27 into overtime with a blast from the right wing point. Tarnasky and Reid picked up the assists.
Connelly suffered the loss pushing away 29 of 33 Everblades shots. Goepfert earned his fourth win of the season stopping 24 of 27 Stingrays chances. The Stingrays ended the night 0-for-4 on the power play while Florida went 1-for-6.
The Stingrays kick off a three-game road trip Friday, November 12 as they battle the Elmira Jackals at 7:35 p.m. at First Arena. The Greenville Road Warriors visit the Stingrays for the first time in team history on Tuesday, November 16 at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum.
