DULUTH, GA - The Gwinnett Gladiators clinched a 5-1 win in the third consecutive game against the Greenville Road Warriors at Sunday afternoon. Gwinnett improves to 7-2-2 on the season with the win.

The Road Warriors took the lead early with a power play goal from Shane Harper at the 5:12 mark in the first period. At the end of 20 minutes the score remained 1-0.

Forward Derek Nesbitt tied the score at one for the Gladiators, his eighth goal this season. After a pile up in front of the net, Michael Forney scored on a power play 7:48 into the second period to put the Gladiators ahead for the first time, 2-1. It was Forney's fourth straight game with a point for Gwinnett.

A short handed goal which resulted from a break by Ryan Garbutt early in the third period put the Gladiators ahead by 3-1 margin. Garbutt just threw the puck at the net and beat Greenville netminder Dov Grumet-Morris from the blue line.

The Gladiators took advantage of the power play opportunity and scored two goals. Garbutt got his second tally for the night at the 6:10 mark. This was followed immediately with a goal from Sam Roberts, his first of the season, which made it 5-1.

Dan Kissel sealed the win with an unassisted goal late in the third period to finish the game 6-1. Kissel used Garbutt as a decoy and ripped a shot from the left wing circle past the Greenville netminder.

Gladiator goaltender Billy Sauer finished the night with 32 saves for the win for Gwinnett. Gwinnett notched three power play goals for the second consecutive night.

The Gladiators head to Kalamazoo to face the Wings Friday, November 12th at 7:30 p.m.
