ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings, and Stater Bros. Charities hosted Military Appreciation Night on Saturday to benefit Southern California veteran organizations. A game-worn player jersey auction raised $21,160.

With the Reign on the power play, the puck was cleared back into the Ontario zone. Brian Swanson picked Shawn Collymore's pocket, then went in all alone and beat Kellen Briggs low for his fourth goal of the season. Zach Harrison made it 2-0, as he one-timed a Chris Langkow pass over Briggs' glove at 18:08.

But the Reign rallied back in the second frame. Luke Beaverson pulled the Reign within one goal on a fine individual effort, as he picked up the puck in the neutral zone and sped past two defenders down the left side. Alaska goaltender Adam Courchaine stopped Beaverson's first shot, but Beaverson corralled his own rebound and put the puck into the wide-open net.

Rookie Matt Delahey tallied his second goal of the season on a Reign power play to even it up at 2-2. The puck was bouncing around in a scrum behind the Alaska net which had Courchaine guessing which post to guard. He guessed wrong. Collymore poked it into the slot where Delahey snapped it home for his first professional power-play goal.

Alaska touched-up Ontario early in the third period. Alex Dzieliski and Ethan Cox scored on a pair of two-on-ones just fifty-six seconds apart to take a 4-2 lead. Swanson capped off the scoring with his second goal of the game, an empty-netter at 17:53.

Courchaine stopped 23 of 25 shots for the win, while Briggs absorbed the loss with 27 saves on 31 shots.
