Bakersfield Condors News Release
Stockton, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors (4-6-0-0, 8pts) were shutout by the Stockton Thunder (5-1-1-1, 12pts) for the second time in three nights as the Thunder took a 4-0 victory in front of 5,021 fans on Sunday at Stockton Arena.
Bakersfield had a golden opportunity to get on the scoreboard first when Stockton D Jordan Bendfeld was called for an illegal check to the head and gave the Condors a 5-minute power play. Just under three minutes into the man-advantage, C Chris D'Alvise was called for delay-of-game but the Condors could not score on the 5-on-3 advantage. Each team skated off the ice to a scoreless tie after the first period.
For the second straight game, Stockton was able to break the scoreless tie with a second period marker. While on the power play, D Steve Vanoosten blasted a shot through traffic and got a fortunate deflection off two Condors defensemen and between the legs of G Josh Tordjman for the lone second period goal.
The third period was owned by Stockton, as they notched three goals from D Ryan Constant, LW Aaron Clarke, and D Anthony Aiello to cruise to a 4-0 victory. Two of the three third period goals were scored on the power play as Stockton finished with three goals on seven chances on the night.
