
Ethan Mildren activated from DL and assigned to Kernels

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that RHP Ethan Mildren has been activated from the 7-day DL at Fort Myers (FSL) and assigned to the Kernels and RHP Dereck Rodriguez has been assigned to Elizabethton (APPY). Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.
The Twins selected Mildren in the 12th round of the 2013 First Year Player Draft out of the University of Pittsburgh. He split time last season between the Kernels and Fort Myers, posting a 3-5 record and 4.03 ERA in 14 games (13 starts) for the Kernels. In 73.2 IP, he allowed 78 hits and 35 runs (33 earned0 with 16 walks and 56 strikeouts. He had appeared in eight games (six starts) at Fort Myers with a 1-4 record and 5.45 ERA and hasn't pitched since May 27th.
Rodriguez made two starts for the Kernels, posting a 0-1 record and 9.00 ERA. In 7 IP he allowed nine hits and seven runs (all earned) with six walks and three strikeouts.
Mildren is scheduled to start tonight's 6:35 PM game with the Burlington Bees. With today's transaction, the Kernels roster is at the Midwest League maximum of 25 active players, with 11 players currently on the DL.
The Kernels are in the midst of a nine game home stand and host the Burlington Bees tonight at 6:35 PM with the gates opening at 5:30 PM. The current home stand continues through Thursday, June 18th.
