(Cedar Rapids-IA)- The Burlington Bees were shutout by the Cedar Rapids Kernels, 2-0 in game two of a three game series, Wednesday night in Cedar Rapids.

With two outs in the bottom of the first inning, Zack Larson reached on an infield single and then moved to second on a Alex Real infield single, putting two on with two outs. The next batter, Edgar Corcino, double to right, scoring both Larson and Real and the Kernels took a 2-0 lead.

Trailing 2-0 in the top of the sixth inning, Michael Hermosillo and Andrew Daniel drew back-to-back walks, with two outs. Natanael Delgado grounded out softly to third, stranding two runners. The Bees loaded the bases with two outs in the seventh inning on two straight singles by Wade Was and Ryan Seiz and a walk issued to Trevor Gretzky. Jake Yacinich grounded into a fielders' choice, retiring the side. Trailing 2-0 in the ninth, Wade Wass collected his third hit of the series, a double to right. Ryan Seiz walked, putting the tying run at first. Cam Booser was able to strikeout Gretzky, picking up his seventh save of the season.

Ethan Mildren (1-0) picked up the win, striking out seven hitters in 5.2 innings. Bees' starter, Michael Bolaski (4-6) was charged with the loss, allowing two runs in six innings. The Bees and the Kernels finish the series Thursday night, at 6:35, in Cedar Rapids. Garrett Nuss starts for the Bees against Keaton Steele for Cedar Rapids.
