ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Tonight, the SeaWolves look to make it two in a row as they take the field against the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) at Blair County Ballpark in game one of a four-game set. Erie snapped a four-game losing streak with an 11-10 win over Bowie on Wednesday. The ‘Wolves and Curve will see a lot of each other over the next three weeks as 11 of the SeaWolves next 17 games will be against Altoona (7 road 4 home). In 2007, the season series against Altoona was muddled by inclement weather. The two clubs saw everything from snow to rain which forced six doubleheaders...Altoona is coming off of a six-game road trip where they went 3-3. They are currently in a fifth-place tie in the Southern Division...Tonight marks a stretch of 17 games for Erie in which they will play 13 away from Jerry Uht Park. The ‘Wolves have a better record (5-2) and team ERA (3.58) on the road this season...LHP Luke French takes the mound for Erie making his second start and third appearance of the season. French took a loss in a relief role his last time out. He was roughed up for 14 runs (10 earned) on 15 hits against Binghamton on April 11...RHP Yoslan Herrera takes the mound for the Curve in game one. Herrera has faced Reading in each of his first two starts and took a loss in his last outing on April 12. In the game, he went five innings, allowing five runs on five hits with a pair of walks and four strikeouts. Herrera has walked five batters in his first 11 innings of work this season. He was 0-2 against the ‘Wolves in 2007.

- The SeaWolves are 5-2 on the road

- Erie is 3-3 in night games

- The ‘Wolves are 6-4 against the Southern Division

- Erie took the 2007 season series from Altoona 9-7. The SeaWolves and Curve meet 18 times in 2008.

- Erie's pitching staff looks to continue its success away from "The Uht." On the road this season, the team ERA is 3.58 as opposed to an 8.50 ERA at home. Erie's staff is ranked last in the league with a 5.81 team ERA.

- The ‘Wolves are ranked second in the league in team batting with a .270 average. Altoona is fifth in the league hitting .250

- Freddy Guzman leads the league in triples (3) and is tied for the league lead with seven stolen bases. He is also fourth in hits (20), is tied for second with 13 runs scored. Guzman is batting .405(9x22) with eight RBI and six runs scored in his last five games.

- Erie has hit at least one home run in 11 of the first 13 games. In the two games Erie has not homered, the team is 0-2.

- The SeaWolves lead the EL with 25 stolen bases.

- The ‘Wolves lead the league with 86 runs scored and are second with 127 hits.

- Erie's pitching staff has struggled at Jerry Uht Park with an 8.40 home ERA. Away from the Uht, the team has an ERA of 3.58.

- Erie is in a stretch of 20 games against Southern Division opponents.
