ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...
Tonight, the SeaWolves look to make it two in a row as they take the field against the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) at Blair County Ballpark in game one of a four-game set. Erie snapped a four-game losing streak with an 11-10 win over Bowie on Wednesday. The âWolves and Curve will see a lot of each other over the next three weeks as 11 of the SeaWolves next 17 games will be against Altoona (7 road 4 home). In 2007, the season series against Altoona was muddled by inclement weather. The two clubs saw everything from snow to rain which forced six doubleheaders...Altoona is coming off of a six-game road trip where they went 3-3. They are currently in a fifth-place tie in the Southern Division...Tonight marks a stretch of 17 games for Erie in which they will play 13 away from Jerry Uht Park. The âWolves have a better record (5-2) and team ERA (3.58) on the road this season...LHP Luke French takes the mound for Erie making his second start and third appearance of the season. French took a loss in a relief role his last time out. He was roughed up for 14 runs (10 earned) on 15 hits against Binghamton on April 11...RHP Yoslan Herrera takes the mound for the Curve in game one. Herrera has faced Reading in each of his first two starts and took a loss in his last outing on April 12. In the game, he went five innings, allowing five runs on five hits with a pair of walks and four strikeouts. Herrera has walked five batters in his first 11 innings of work this season. He was 0-2 against the âWolves in 2007.
