Eric Brown threw six strong innings and four different players drove in runs for the Binghamton Mets, who still fell to the Portland Sea Dogs 5-4 at NYSEG Stadium Thursday. The B-Mets have dropped two of three.

Portland (10-3) went ahead in the first on Sandy Madera's two-run homer off Brown. Mike Carp got a run back for the B-Mets with a longball of his own, a solo shot leading off the second that made it 2-1 Portland.

The B-Mets (8-6) took their first lead of the night in the fifth. Emmanuel Garcia and Ambiorix Concepcion drew back-to-back, one-out walks off Kris Johnson before Fernando Martinez singled in Garcia and Jose Coronado's base hit brought home Concepcion for a 3-2 B-Mets advantage.

Portland's Jeff Corsaletti homered off Brown in the sixth to tie the score 3-3. Brown departed after six innings, allowing three runs on five hits. The righthander left with a chance to win thanks to Josh Petersen, who doubled home Carp in the bottom of the sixth after Carp reached on a leadoff single, putting Binghamton ahead 4-3.

Corsaletti's RBI double off Eddie Camacho tied the score again before Iggy Suarez reached Joe Hietpas (1-2) for a two-out single in the ninth, bringing home Tony Granadillo with what proved to be the winning run.

Portland's Kyle Fernandes (1-0) tossed two scoreless innings to earn the win.

Friday, the B-Mets play the second game of their four-game series against the Portland Sea Dogs.
