Today, the SeaWolves look to make it three straight wins as they take on the Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians) in the final game of a four-game series at Canal Park. Last night, lefty Drew Smyly made his Double-A debut and shut out the Aeros for seven innings. Austin Wood pitched the final two innings of the game en route to the SeaWolves second straight shutout win over the Aeros 5-0. The win was the 50th of the season for the SeaWolves and the club has won back-to-back road games for the first time since 6/11 - 6/22 when the team rattled off five straight road wins, a season-best...The SeaWolves have won three games at Canal Park for the first time since 2007. Erie has struggled at Canal Park over the last three seasons. Since 2009, the SeaWolves are 6-24 in their last 30 games in Akron...The SeaWolves will send righty Rob Waite to the mound making a spot start. It is Waite's first start of the season. His previous 30 appearances have come in relief. His last outing was in the series opener on July 28. In the game, he allowed a run on two hits in two innings of work. Waite is making his sixth appearance against the Aeros. He is 0-1 with a 2.19 ERA in his previous five relief appearances against Akron...Lefty T.J. McFarland takes the mound for Akron making his 19th start and fourth against the SeaWolves. He is 1-1 with an 8.22 ERA in three starts against the SeaWolves. He lost his last start against Trenton on July 26 allowing three runs, one earned, on six hits in five innings.
