TODAY: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Trenton Thunder will meet in the finale of a four-game series...The Thunder broke through a 4-4 tie with a five-run bottom of the third inning on their way to blowing out the Flying Squirrels 17-5 on Saturday night in front of 7,511 fans at Waterfront Park.

OUCH: The Flying Squirrels suffered their most one-sided loss in franchise history last night, falling to the Trenton Thunder 17-5...The club's previous largest margin of defeat was 11 which occurred Tuesday in Erie (14-3)...The 17 runs allowed by the club was a franchise record as well, topping the 15 runs Richmond allowed to Reading 7/28/10...The staff ERA jumped 13 points from 3.22 to 3.35...In the Flying Squirrels four wins on their current seven-game road trip, the team has allowed a total of nine runs...In the club's two losses, it has allowed a combined 31 runs...Overall, Richmond has been outscored 40-26 on the trip even though the team is 4-2 entering today's series finale.
WALK ON: Flying Squirrels' pitching issued a season-high 11 walks in last night's 17-5 loss to Trenton...Six of the 11 walks ended up scoring including three of the four walks starter Ryan Verdugo issued in the bottom of the first inning...Richmond also issued three walks with the bases loaded forcing in runs...The club's previous season-high for most walks issued was nine which occurred 4/22 in an 11-5, 15-inning loss against Altoona.
ROGER'S RECORD: Outfielder Roger Kieschnick blast a two-run home run last night in the top of the third inning, his 13th of the season...With the long ball, the 24-year-old surpassed Thomas Neal's single-season franchise mark of 12 home runs...In addition to leading the club in home runs, Kieschnick is the team-leader in RBIs (55) and extra-base hits (37)....He is tied for second in the Eastern League in games played (105).
KING OF THE ROAD: First baseman Wes Hodges went 1-for-4 last night giving him hits in every game on the Flying Squirrels' current seven-game road trip...The 26-year-old is batting .383 (31-for-81) in 20 games on the road...All six of his home runs have been hit on the road and 14 of his 23 RBIs have come on the road...He is hitting .229 (61-for-70) with six doubles and a triple in 22 games at The Diamond...Over his last 16 games, Hodges is batting .417 (25-for-60) with four doubles, three home runs, nine RBIs, and nine runs scored.
PITCHING IN: The Flying Squirrels pitching staff leads the Eastern League with a 3.35 ERA through 107 games and has allowed a league-low 410 runs...Richmond's pitching staff has allowed two runs or less in 42 of its 107 games (39%)...Starting pitching has allowed three runs or less in 76 of the team's 107 games (71%) and the club is 53-23 in those contests.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN: The Flying Squirrels are in the middle of a stretch where they are playing 14 of 20 games on the road...Overall, the club is 22-30 on the road, and is batting .222 and averaging 3.56 runs per game (185R/52G) in 52 road contests...The club is 37-18 overall at home - the best home record in the league - and is batting .263 in 55 games at The Diamond while averaging 4.56 runs per game at home (251R/55G).
