AKRON, OH - The Akron Aeros did break a 26-inning scoreless streak but could only muster one run in the finale of a four-game series against the Erie SeaWolves losing 5-1 Sunday at Canal Park.

With the loss, the Aeros (55-54) lost three of four to the SeaWolves and lost the season series.

Left-handed pitcher T.J. McFarland suffered the loss for Akron tossing six innings, surrendering four earned runs on seven hits, walking two and striking out five.

Right-handed pitcher Rob Waite recorded the win for Erie pitching five scoreless innings, scattering two hits, walking two and striking out one.

The game was scoreless until the top of the fifth inning. With two outs, John Murrian singled and advanced to third on a Jamie Johnson double. Brandon Douglas walked to load the bases. Rawley Bishop worked a walk to force home Murrian and give the SeaWolves a 1-0 lead. Bryan Pounds followed with a two-RBI double to increase the lead to 3-0.

The SeaWolves (51-57) added runs in the top of the sixth and eighth innings to make it 5-0.

Akron scored their lone run in the bottom of the eighth inning on Michel Hernandez RBI single to snap their streak of 26 innings without scoring a run.

That was as close as they would get as Erie went on to the win.

The Aeros are off Monday and will head to Trenton to begin a three-game series against the Thunder on Tuesday. Akron has not announced a starter for Tuesday's game. The Thunder will give the ball to left-handed pitcher Manny Banuelos, who is 4-5 with a 3.59 ERA in 2011. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. The game can be heard on Fox Sports 1350 AM or online at sportsradio1350.com. Coverage begins at 6:50 p.m.
