Tonight, the SeaWolves look for consecutive wins as they take on the Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians) in the third game of a four-game series at Canal Park. Last night, the SeaWolves came out on the winning end of a 1-0 pitchers duel that saw Jay Voss and Tyler Stohr combine on a gem. The win marked the first time since 2008 that the SeaWolves won two games in a season series in Akron. Erie has struggled at Canal Park over the last three seasons. Since 2009, the SeaWolves are 5-24 in their last 29 games in Akron. Tonight, lefty Drew Smyly makes his Double-A debut for the SeaWolves after starting his first professional season with Class-A Lakeland. Smyly appeared in 14 games for the Flying Tigers, all starts, compiling a 7-3 record and 2.58 ERA. Earned a win in his final start with Lakeland on July 25 against Palm Beach. In the game, he shut out the Cardinals for seven innings, allowing two hits with two walks and a career-high 10 strikeouts...Lefty Drew Pomeranz takes the mound for the Aeros making his fourth Double-A start. He began the season with Class-A Kinston making 15 starts, going 3-2 with a 1.87 ERA. He took a no-decision in his last start against Trenton on July 25. In the game, the lefty allowed two runs on four hits with three walks and six strikeouts in 4.1 innings of work. He has not worked more than five innings since joining the Aeros...The SeaWolves will play one more game in Akron before returning home on Tuesday night to take on New Britain, beginning a six-game homestand.
