TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Trenton Thunder will meet in game three of a four-game series...Third baseman Chris Dominguez launched a one-out solo home run in the top of the eighth inning and the Flying Squirrels held on to edge the Thunder 3-2 following a two hour and 11 minute rain delay on Friday night in front of 6,980 fans at Waterfront Park.

RISING WATER: The Flying Squirrels have reached a new high-water mark of the season at 12 games over the .500 mark at 59-47...It is the most games over .500 for Richmond in the two-year history of the franchise...The team has won 11 of its last 13 games entering tonight's contest at Trenton...With a win tonight and a loss by the Harrisburg Senators, the Flying Squirrels would be in sole possession of first place in the Western Division for the first time this season...The club was tied for first on seven of the first 11 days of the season (4/7-4/17)...Richmond was in first place for three days (5/13/10-5/15/10) last season.
KING OF THE ROAD: First baseman Wes Hodges went 2-for-4 last night, his fifth straight multi-hit game and his 14th overall multi-hit performance since joining the Flying Squirrels...The 26-year-old is batting .390 (30-for-77) in 19 games on the road...All six of his home runs have been hit on the road and 14 of his 23 RBIs have come on the road...He is hitting .229 (61-for-70) with six doubles and a triple in 22 games at The Diamond...Over his last 15 games, Hodges is batting .429 (24-for-56) with four doubles, three home runs, nine RBIs, and nine runs scored.
THE INSIDE SCHOOP: Infielder Sharlon Schoop went 1-3 with a run scored last night, extending his season-long hit streak to six games...He went 3-for-4 Thursday night with a home run, three RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base last night, matching season-highs in hits and runs, while establishing a new season-high in RBIs...Since shortstop Nick Noonan was promoted to Triple-A Fresno 7/18, Schoop is 17-for-42 (.405) at the plate over his last 14 games including three home runs, 11 RBIs, and 10 runs scored.
CHARLIE HORSE: Second baseman Charlie Culberson has been held hitless over his last six games, going 0-for-20 over that stretch with eight strikeouts...He has reached base safely three times in his last six games, getting hit by a pitch twice and walking...The 22-year-old has seen his average dip from .278 to .265 over that span.
PITCHING IN: The Flying Squirrels pitching staff leads the Eastern League with a 3.22 ERA through 106 games and has allowed a league-low 393 runs, the only club to have allowed fewer than 400 runs...Richmond's pitching staff has allowed two runs or less in 42 of its 106 games (40%)...Starting pitching has allowed three runs or less in 76 of the team's 106 games (72%) and the club is 53-23 in those contests.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN: The Flying Squirrels are in the middle of a stretch where they are playing 14 of 20 games on the road...Overall, the club is 22-29 on the road, and is batting .222 and averaging 3.53 runs per game (180R/51G) in 51 road contests...The club is 37-18 overall at home - the best home record in the league - and is batting .263 in 55 games at The Diamond while averaging 4.56 runs per game at home (251R/55G).
