Today, the Erie SeaWolves go for three-straight wins and a series victory as they take on the Trenton Thunder at ARM & HAMMER Park. Last night, Matt Manning recorded his fifth win after allowing two unearned runs across six innings with eight strikeouts. The win was Erie's fourth in their last five against an Eastern Division opponent. Kyle Funkhouser takes the mound for the SeaWolves making his Erie debut and his first start in Double-A since July 8, 2018.The Detroit Tigers 10th overall prospect (MLB Pipeline) is making his eighth start of 2019 and second since returning from the IL on June 4. In six starts with Triple-A Toledo, Funkhouser was 0-3 with a 7.64 ERA. In his last start with Lakeland on June 4, Funkhouser tossed five scoreless innings, allowing two hits with a walk and four strikeouts. Trevor Stephan takes the mound for Trenton and is coming off of a loss in his last start on June 2 against Harrisburg. The right-hander allowed four earned runs on seven hits while striking out three and walking one. Stephan was a third round selection by the Yankees in 2017 out of the University of Arkansas.
