ENTERING TODAY'S ACTION... Today, the SeaWolves take on the Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox) in the rubber game of a three-game set at Hadlock Field. The ‘Wolves are looking for back-to-back wins and their second winning series at Hadlock (Erie took two of three from Portland in 2007 at Hadlock). Erie is also looking to avoid dropping back-to-back series (Lost three of four against Altoona prior to the Portland series). The Sea Dogs have not dropped back-to-back games since May 15-17 (Final game vs. Trenton and first game of a DH vs. New Britain)...The SeaWolves are in a stretch of 15 straight and 19 of 22 games vs. Northern Division opponents. Erie's next game against a Southern Division opponent comes when they travel to Harrisburg on June 20...Lefty Luke French takes the mound for the ‘Wolves, making his 12th appearance and 11th start of the season. He took a loss in his last outing against Altoona on May 30. In the game, French tossed 6.2 innings, allowing eight runs, all earned, on 12 hits with three walks and two strikeouts. It was the first time in five starts where French did not work seven or more innings. He is 0-1 against the North in one appearance (4/11 in relief vs. Binghamton)...Righty Matt Goodson takes the mound for the Sea Dogs. Goodson took a loss in his last start against New Hampshire going three innings, allowing five runs, four earned, on six hits with a walk and two strikeouts. Goodson is 0-2 with two no-decisions in his last four starts and has not worked five innings in a game since May 6. TODAY'S NOTABLES - - The SeaWolves are 14-17 on the road. - Erie is 10-10 in day games. - The ‘Wolves are 3-9 against the Northern Division. - The season series between Erie and Portland is tied 1-1. The SeaWolves and Sea Dogs meet 6 times in 2008. - The ‘Wolves are sixth in the league with a .267 team batting average. Portland is the top hitting team in the league with a .277 average. Portland is also the top scoring team in the league with 319 runs. - The SeaWolves lead the league with 67 stolen bases. - The ‘Wolves are third in the league with 310 runs scored and are third in the league with 50 home runs. - Erie's pitching staff is ninth in the league with a 4.89 ERA. Portland is fourth with a 3.90 team ERA. - The SeaWolves (Dusty Ryan and Max St. Pierre) are throwing out potential base stealers at a clip of 52.1 percent which leads the league. St Pierre leads the league with a 66.7 throwout percentage. - Wilkin Ramirez leads the league with 28 extra-base hits. Ramirez 68 hits tops the SeaWolves and is fifth in the league. - Max Leon is fourth in the league with a .435 on-base percentage. - Erie leads the all-time series against Portland 32-30.
