Harrisburg Senators News Release

Harrisburg, PA - The Harrisburg Senators again couldn't get the bats rolling against the Binghamton Mets as they fell, 4-1. Binghamton RHP Salvador Aguilar delivered six shutout innings to pick up the win.

Former Senator Salomon Manriquez went 2-for-3 with a walk, stole two bases and scored three runs for Binghamton. Manriquez led off the 3rd with a walk, stole second and scored in the 3rd to make it 1-0. In the 5th, he singled and later scored on an RBI groundout by Jose Coronado. In the fifth, Binghamton struck for two more off of Senators starter Shairon Martis as Mike Carp hit a lead-off solo home-run to make the score 3-0. Then with one out, Manriquez singled, stole second and scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Mets starter Salvador Aguilar.

The Senators got on the board in the bottom of the 7th when Ofilio Castro bounced a two-out RBI single up the middle to cut it to 4-1. Harrisburg had the first two batters reach in the 8th, but a double-play stifled the rally.

Binghamton closer Eddie Kunz worked 1.1 scoreless innings to notch his 14th save of the year. Aguilar picked up the win to go to 6-1 on the year. Martis was saddled with the loss to fall to 4-3.

With the win, the B-Mets took the series to improve to 31-28. The loss dropped the Senators to 34-24.

The six-game homestand continues Friday at Commerce Bank Park against the Bowie Baysox. First pitch is slated for 6:35 PM.
