Tonight, the SeaWolves continue their tour of the Northeast as they take on the Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox) in the middle game of a three-game series at Hadlock Field. Last night, the SeaWolves received a stellar performance from starter L.J. Gagnier as they took the series opener from Portland 6-2. It was the second time on the current road trip that the SeaWolves pitching staff combined to strike out 14 batters (Gagnier with 10 and Marte with four). Erie is 2-2 on the current road trip and they can win the season series from the Sea Dogs with a win in either of the final two games of the current series...Righty Brooks Brown takes the mound for the SeaWolves making his 13th start and second against Portland. He took a no-decision against the Sea Dogs on June 16 allowing three runs on eight hits in five innings. Brown took a loss in his last start against Harrisburg on August 7. In the game, he allowed four runs on seven hits with a walk and a season-high nine strikeouts in six innings of work. Erie lost the game 6-1...Righty Alex Wilson takes the mound for Portland making his 21st start and second against the SeaWolves. He took a no-decision at Erie on June 16, allowing four runs, three earned, on five hits with three walks and five strikeouts in five innings. Wilson beat Richmond in his last start on August 7. In the game, he allowed a run on six hits with no walks and five strikeouts in six innings. Wilson has been strong at home in 2011 posting a 5-1 record and 2.20 ERA in 11 Hadlock Field starts.
