ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Tonight, the SeaWolves continue a six-day road trip as the open up a weekend series against the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) at Blair County Ballpark. The two clubs will play four games in three days with a doubleheader on Saturday night. The home team has been favored through the first two series meetings with Altoona winning two of three (4/17-4/19) at BCB and Erie winning three of four (4/24-4/27) at The Uht...The SeaWolves dropped two of three against Akron in the first series of the road trip. Erie had won two straight series prior to the Akron series. The ‘Wolves are in a two-way tie for second place in the South with Bowie...Altoona has been scuffling over the last week dropping six straight (the final three at Erie and a sweep at the hands of first place Harrisburg this week). The Curve have dropped seven of their last 10 and sit in last place in the South, seven games behind Harrisburg...Rightie Josh Rainwater takes the mound for Erie in game one of the series. Rainwater has taken no-decisions in each of his last two starts, the most recent against Altoona. In his last start against the Curve, Rainwater went a season-high six innings, allowing two runs on six hits with three walks and three strikeouts. He left the game with a 3-2, however, the bullpen could not hold on. Erie eventually won the game 9-3...RHP Jimmy Barthmaier makes his sixth start of the season and his second against Erie. He took a no-decision on April 27 against the ‘Wolves going five, allowing three runs, two earned on four hits.
